Private lessons’ frequency and length depend on the student’s age and ability. To support a learning environment, please give your student a quiet space that is free of distractions.
Practice makes progress. An hour a week broken into four days a week is generally enough practice for a young beginner. Please look into incorporating other resources, apps or websites, to supplement practice. Note Rush, musictheory.net, and FlashNote Derby are some examples.
Flat-rate tuition is due on the 25th of each month for the following month. To avoid late fee of $20, please have your payment ready. Please make checks to At Home Music, Inc. Your monthly payment guarantees 14 lessons per semester at the regularly scheduled day and time. One class may be rescheduled per semester. Lessons are not rolled over into the next semester.
Semesters are:
May 1 to August 31, 2022*
Sept 1 to Dec 23, 2022
Jan 2 to April 29, 2023
*Because we are a family-centered institution, we understand that the summer semester is filled with visitors and vacations. Please arrange the 14 lessons with your teacher.
A recital is held usually on the second weekend of December. Your child is invited to perform up to two pieces granted he or she is willing and prepared.
